FILTRATION & PROTECTION A330/A340 AIR CABIN FILTERS

The company  IMA TECH WIRING and INDUSTRIELLE DU PONANT proudly introduces an innovative filtration solution for aviation that revolutionizes standardized approaches in air filtration, removing from airstream not only particles but also micro-organisms and chemical molecules. Developed under a patent owned by IDP, this filtration solution is totally able to equip business aviation and commercial aviation as well as health and medical sector, industrial dust-free rooms, animal breeding… No additional energy is required. No weight penalty. The outstanding properties of IDP filtration solution are highlighted hereafter.

•At the microbiological filtration level :

IDP media is woven in 3D and it causes a better control of air flow and mechanically impales microbes on silver ions and antimicrobial agents. The external layer of the fiber is impregnated with silver particles and with bactericidal and virucidal agents. These constituents are not sprayed on the fiber but are fully part of it. The Bio protection is permanent. In the event of a health alert (SARS, Avian flu, N1N1, Ebola) or a terrorist attack (Anthrax), IDP filters prevent microbes present in the recycled air from dispersing throughout the entire cabin.

•At the particulate filtration level :

IDP filters exceed U15 level according to EN1822 standard. IDP filters bring Ultra Low Penetrating Air to aviation which is standard required for ceiling filtration in surgical units. Tests made by agreed laboratory confirmed particle catches of 0,1 microns (size of the smallest viruses). No gap of efficiency has been showed during these tests.

•At the gas filtration level :

IDP filtration systems are built with IDP media which is boosted with mineral and metal particles that cause ionization of water molecules and degradation of gases thanks to piezoelectric effect. There is no absorption phenomenon in this filtration solution and so no risk of release. Tests made by the SGS laboratory confirmed no undesirable gas was detected in the outflow, in respect with air standards.

•At the life duration level :

The Dust Holding Capacity (DHC), realized according to Test Fine Dust ISO 12103 A2 has shown EKO 10-001-1 filter DHC is more than 3,5 higher than Airbus Specification. This important DHC provides an extended lifespan nearly 2 times higher, in normal environments, than competitors.

•At the operating cost level :

The extended lifespan enables to increase maintenance intervals. Considering hourly operating cost or operating cost throughout a long period, IDP filters provide interesting savings to aircrafts which are equipped with IDP filtration solutions.

So far, IDP filtration systems have received the STC certification from Transport Canada and EASA authorities to be installed on Airbus A330 & A340. They are totally able to be adapted on other commercial aircrafts.

IDP filters also equip business aircrafts : the new generation of enhanced filtration technology has been chosen by Dassault to purify cabin air in the new Falcon 5X.
